Board hears update on Republic Waste negotiations and a $5M redevelopment proposal

Trustee Crowley said the current draft would hold rates steady for two years with no increase, eliminate the monthly e‑waste fee (about $1.15 per household), and then apply roughly 4% increases in later years if extended; the board will review the final contract before approval.
On redevelopment, staff reported a draft redevelopment agreement for the proposed Baja project (the former Tasco Ford property) and an application for TIF reimbursement. Trustee Crowley said the developer's planned investment is about $5,000,000 including purchase and that the village is preparing a TIF ordinance and redevelopment agreement for board review. Trustees said the agreements and supporting numbers will be circulated for comment and a final vote is expected at the August 12 meeting.
