The board held the required public hearing under California Education Code §17211 and approved a resolution finding the Rancho Cordova Sun Creek property suitable for future school use.
Miss Dayton presented staff’s evaluation of roughly 85 acres within the Sun Creek specific plan area and described reviews for site size, student safety, environmental conditions, utilities and access. Staff reported the Department of Toxic Substances Control issued a no‑further‑action determination for the property. The presentation emphasized tonight’s action affirms suitability under state school‑site standards and does not authorize construction — CEQA review and additional approvals are still needed.
Trustees moved, seconded and approved Resolution No. 2 26 27 unanimously, which allows administration to continue the acquisition process and complete remaining geotechnical and environmental studies.
