The Mountain View School District board voted unanimously to accept the district's annual audit after Auditor Dan Coleman of Quest CPA presented the firm's findings. Coleman said the auditors "issued an unmodified opinion," meaning they found the district's financial statements to be accurate.
Coleman reviewed fund balances and program results: the general fund ended the year at $904,435, the Forest Fund held $2,801,295, the Child Nutrition Fund had a loss of $41,972 (ending balance about $164,005), and the bus depreciation fund had $733,009.81 available for vehicle purchases. "Everything checked out great," Coleman said, and noted testing of federal major programs and internal controls revealed no reportable deficiencies. Board members thanked staff and the auditor before approving the audit formality.
The business manager noted the district transferred more than $2 million from the Forest Fund into operations this year and reminded trustees of changing state facility funding rules planned for the coming year. The board took the audit acceptance motion without further debate and recorded the vote in favor.
