The Dunes City Council unanimously appointed the city administrator to serve as budget officer for the coming budget cycle and confirmed the composition of the budget committee on Jan. 21.
"I would nominate the city administrator to be the budget officer," the presiding officer said; the nomination was seconded and the council voted in favor. The presiding officer explained the council comprises the bulk of the budget committee with a citizen member and said the committee worked efficiently last year when it completed recommendations after a short series of meetings. Staff indicated the budget officer (Lila) will provide projections and expense information to support the process.
The council also nominated current council members plus citizen member Alan Snow to serve on the budget committee; the body voted unanimously to approve the committee composition. No related budget appropriations or policy changes were taken at the Jan. 21 meeting.
