Dolores County commissioners voted to appoint Dr. Posner as the county medical officer and AED consultant, subject to contract review; the board also approved hiring Julie as the county's public health administrator following recent interviews.
Commissioner 3 said the county is currently under contract with another provider but planned to add Dr. Posner "into the contract as the IED or AED consultant," and the item was brought forward so that the board could formally appoint him. "We'll make a motion to appoint doctor Posner as the Dolores County medical officer and ADP consultant," the chair said; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
On staffing, the chair moved to hire Julie as the new public health administrator and noted ongoing work toward an intergovernmental agreement with Montezuma County that would provide a shared director role. The motion to hire Julie was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Next steps: county staff will finalize the contract language for Dr. Posner and circulate employment paperwork for the new public health administrator.
