The Evanston City Council on July 7 approved Resolution 26-25, authorizing the city to accept an audit proposal from Porter, Muirhead, Cornea and Howard for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
Mr. Harris read the resolution and summarized the budget numbers: “I can tell the council that in fiscal year, '26, so the '25, to June 30 2026, the total paid to Porter Muirhead was 104,500,” and he said the proposal is budgeted at $80,000. Council discussion praised the audit firm for their work and the resolution was introduced, seconded and adopted by voice vote.
No council member proposed amendments. One member thanked auditors for their work. The council recorded no additional direction to staff; the treasurer had previously provided packet information on the proposal. The resolution delegates signature authority to the treasurer for the agreement as written in section 2 of the proposed contract.
The contract acceptance covers the next annual audit cycle; the packet contained budget figures and timeline notes. The council approved the motion by voice vote.
