"So the city is planning to submit a CDBG block grant for demolition for this FY 26 competitive cycle," John said, describing the application timeline and documentation requirements. John said Monett has not applied in the last five years and that smaller, targeted requests now could position the city to pursue larger competitive grants in future cycles.
Councilors asked about application frequency and whether applying often helps; staff recommended applying annually but cautioned that larger requests bring heavier documentation demands. With no members of the public speaking, the council closed the hearing by motion and roll call and directed staff to include the necessary resolution and ADA grievance procedure in the application packet.
