The Stillwater Planning Commission on July 21 voted 3-0 to deny a short-term rental license application for 2425 West 22nd Avenue (STR0252). The applicant was not present; staff noted the property is a duplex and that each side requires a separate license.
City staff member Henry Bibelheimer showed aerials and a zoning-layer screenshot indicating no active short-term rental licenses in the immediate block. During deliberation, legal counsel told the commission, “Tabling it would not be an option,” because a new ordinance takes effect Monday; commissioners discussed that the applicant could reapply under the new administrative process if desired. The commission’s alternatives that evening were to approve or deny the application.
The motion to deny was made and seconded and passed 3-0. The commission record indicates the applicant may reapply immediately under the new ordinance and must provide any additional documents the new application requires.
