He told the board the district is "actively trying to kill this bill." The superintendent said the changes could produce a temporary LEA increase in 2027 that would disappear under the bill's proposed structure, leaving the district worse off over time.
The update also covered community outreach related to the levy, including a recent public information session that drew roughly 35 community members and student speakers advocating for performing arts and other programs. Brad asked the board to continue public engagement and preparation for the near-term ballot date. The board did not take formal action on the bill during the meeting but recorded agreement to oppose the measure and continue monitoring committee deadlines and floor movement.
