Planning board approves minutes, notes Police Jury actions and sets next meeting

The Calcasieu Parish Planning and Zoning Board opened its July 21, 2026 meeting with roll call, confirmed a quorum and approved the minutes of the June 16 meeting.
Stephanie, who conducted roll call, confirmed members present and announced, "You have a quorum." The board moved to approve the June 16 minutes (motion initiated in the record as by Miss Cobb and seconded by Miss Dickerson); the motion passed on a voice vote.
Chair (presiding voice) reminded attendees of meeting procedures, public-comment rules and that the meeting is filmed by the Calcasieu Parish government channel for later broadcast. The board also relayed that the Police Jury on June 18 approved items that the Planning and Zoning Board had recommended on June 16, including an item from Rivera Realty Inc. The board announced its next regular meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, and then moved to adjourn.
The board noted there were no rezoning cases on the agenda that evening and that variance and exception cases heard that night were final.
