Judge Tammy Long Hayward moved through an extended civil red-light and crossing-guard calendar, granting some appeals where affidavits or evidence supported relief and denying others after video review.
Examples on the calendar included appeals granted for defendants who submitted proper affidavits or whose video evidence was inconclusive, and denials for drivers where the judge concluded the video showed sufficient time to stop. Hayward told the court staff she would sign and email orders and reminded attendees that an 11:00 calendar would run later so others could appear. The court repeatedly cautioned drivers to prepare to stop when a bus is pulled over to avoid both safety risks and a $1,000 fine.
