Committee files WRTA snow‑removal report, holds rapid‑transit discussion and advances chairman’s orders

Chair Councilor Robert Bellotta proposed two chairman’s orders asking the Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) and WRTA to prioritize rapid‑transit work, including transit signal priority on Lincoln, Grafton and Main Streets, and requesting that WRTA apply for the FY26 community transit program and consider the micro‑transit opportunity. The committee took roll calls and recorded unanimous assent among members present for both steps.
On Item 3a (WRTA winter weather plan) the committee voted to file the report. For Item 3b (Real Rapid Transit Coalition presentation), the committee voted to hold the item so staff and WRTA can pursue additional planning and grant coordination. Committee members thanked presenters, WRTA staff and advocates for their input and closed the meeting.
