The board’s Clerk (speaker 1) said on July 27 that they are reviewing board term expiration dates and will place reappointments and appointments on the next meeting agenda. The Clerk told members they will seek the mayor’s input for reappointments for members whose terms have expired or are expiring, and will notify police membership to solicit candidates using the board’s secret-ballot process. "I will be agendizing for the next meeting," the Clerk said.
The Clerk identified specific term statuses: Board member Nelson’s term was noted as ending at the end of the current year, the Clerk stated that Board member Scherer’s term had ended at the end of 2025, and that another member’s term had ended at the end of 2024. The Clerk said they will work with the mayor on reappointments and will send candidate notices to police membership ahead of the next meeting.
