County management reported several administrative items and calendar deadlines.
Staff said the planning director posting was released and that interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week of Aug. 24; a commissioner volunteer will join the hiring panel. Jared Biggs noted an upcoming Deep Creek housing design charrette with CDOT and consultants, and staff described pump-testing that will begin the coming Friday for a local water-supply project. The manager reminded commissioners that notice of any county ballot questions needs to be provided to the clerk in the first week of August, with ballot language due in early September.
Commissioners also received updates on parks/open‑space projects, the Galloping Goose Park construction start, an East End Connector trail design delay, and ongoing coordination with the airport authority on a tunnel-road completion. Staff requested direction if the board wanted a county ballot measure; none was finalized at the meeting.
Staff will return with interview materials for the planning director candidate review and with a proposed timeline if the board decides to place questions on the ballot.
