The Portsmouth public-art committee outlined a timetable to solicit artists for the Hanover Garage commission and agreed on a set of review milestones intended to broaden access and provide adequate time for proposals. The RFP would be released in mid-August, an optional on-site walkthrough is scheduled for Sept. 14, proposals are due Oct. 9, and the committee expects to review finalists Oct. 19 with a final selection discussion at the Oct. 28 meeting.
Chair (S1) said the city’s online procurement system should make submission and question handling easier and noted the committee will document Q&A for artists who cannot attend the walkthrough. "The proposal's the middle deadline of October 9," the Chair said when describing the external deadline; members also discussed whether to require online-only submissions and how to include flash-vote or public-comment appendices in review materials.
