Carney Council Holds Executive Session Under Oklahoma Statute for Personnel Matters

At its Feb. 27 special meeting the Town of Carney Board of Trustees entered executive session under Oklahoma Statutes, Title 25, §307(B)(1) to discuss hiring and employment of police officers, then returned to open session and acted on hires.
The Board of Trustees of the Town of Carney moved to enter executive session pursuant to Oklahoma Statutes, Title 25, section 307(B)(1), stating the purpose as discussion of employment, hiring, appointment, promotion, demotion, disciplining, or resignation of a full-time and a part-time police officer. Committee member Jason Hubach moved the motion, and Committee member Greg Rose seconded; the vote was recorded as unanimous (Yea: All; Opposed: None).
After the executive session the Council returned to open session (motion by Jason Hubach; second by Mayor Constance Wallace), and then took formal actions to hire Payton Davis as a full-time officer and Devin Denton as a part-time officer. The minutes do not record any public comment or dissent regarding the personnel decisions.
