LSC's rural fellowship marks 10 years, mobilized 400 students and served 14,000 people

The Legal Services Corporation's 10th-anniversary rural fellowship program was a central example Levy used to show how LSC expands local capacity. He said LSC has "raised private funds during this past decade to mobilize more than 400 law students" to work at rural legal services organizations and that, over the decade, those fellows have served over 14,000 people in rural communities.
Levy described the fellowship program as a workforce and pipeline tool designed to expose new lawyers to legal services work and to increase capacity at rural providers. He noted that two current student fellows were present with the Appalachian Research and Defense Fund at the Kentucky forum.
