Public works removes 1975 water truck from Cowlitz County surplus list after Expo Center request

Savannah Clement of Public Works presented a formal surplus list that included about 27 pieces of equipment and five properties and said per state law and county policy those items go through a public hearing for board approval. Clement told the board there is one item the department does not want to surplus: a 1975 Ford water truck at the Expo Center that the Expo Center team and a "really interested rodeo board" want to repair and keep in service. "I'd like to strike that from surplus. It's the 1975 Ford water truck," Clement said.
Following brief discussion about odometer readings and publication of the legal notice for auction, commissioners agreed to remove the 1975 Ford water truck from the surplus list and approved the remaining surplus items for auction and sale by real-estate agent where applicable. Clement confirmed the county will publish the public notices and proceed with auction procedures for the other items.
