City Attorney and staff explained that the GMP protects the city from cost overruns beyond $10,000,000 unless the commission later authorizes add-ons or alternates; donors and staff said additional amenities could push the overall project toward earlier $12.5 million estimates if the commission chooses to add them later. "We have $5,500,000 in pledged funds. We also have a $2,600,000 grant from Wildlife and Parks," staff said, summarizing the funding package. The commission approved the agreements and asked staff to bring contractor documents for subsequent approval.
