The City of Hardeeville approved the second reading of the Gateway Oasis master plan amendment (ordinance 2026‑07‑09B) on July 23, updating the master plan to reflect conversion of product type from RV units to single‑family residential.
City staff explained the master plan amendment is directly tied to the zoning amendment just approved and carries the short‑term recommendations that remain in place until SCDOT determines signal warrants are met. Council members had no further substantive questions and approved the amendment by voice vote.
The master plan approval changes the conceptual layout and permitted product for the development but does not, by itself, authorize construction beyond the required site‑review and permitting steps. Staff noted additional site‑review conditions will be applied where relevant and that SCDOT coordination will be necessary for any work affecting the state right‑of‑way.
