The Delran Township Council approved Ordinance 2025-14 on Aug. 12, authorizing $2,372,910 in bonds toward a $2.71 million roadway improvement program that includes paving, concrete and storm sewer work and traffic-calming measures. The ordinance lists specific streets (Bentwood Drive, Yardley Road, Holyoke Road, Rutgers Drive, Penn Drive, Dartmouth Drive, Princeton Drive and Suburban Boulevard) and includes a $212,200 grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation for traffic-related work.
During the public portion, resident Charlie Silvestri said several neighborhood streets were not engineered correctly and that water pools at Drexel & Colby and at Drexel, Baylor and Fordham. Council and staff requested a list of affected roads so work can be prioritized. The ordinance passed on a 5-0 roll call. The measure authorizes bonds or bond anticipation notes, requires reporting of any note sales, and takes effect 20 days after publication.
