"We had 2 spots that are gonna need immediate action," the facilities staff member said, noting one was a large wash sink not used for drinking. They described planned remediation stepsreplacing faucets and shut-off stops, retesting supply lines, and tracing plumbing if necessary. Staff said much of the in‑house monthly testing is completed locally but that confirmatory or specialized testing carried a cost and may be sent to town labs in some cases.
On lighting, facilities staff said the districts existing bulbs were discontinued and discussed two options: buy LED replacement bulbs or rewire fixtures for more efficient LED retrofits. They proposed a phased replacement (lower section one year, upper the next) and flagged Graybar as a procurement partner to streamline the purchase and installation without an additional competitive bid.
The board asked for follow-up on estimated costs, timelines, and any available rebates; staff said they would return with vendor quotes and potential rebate estimates.
