Speaker 1 described leading a multi-district coalition to develop expectations for student behavior and said Conroe ISD intends to expand on recent legislative work. "It's called House Bill 6, the Teachers Bill of Rights," Speaker 1 said, and the district plans to build what the trustee called a "Texas standard of discipline."
Trustees emphasized that discipline guidance is not meant to be punitive but to create consistent expectations and to support campus staff in carrying out disciplinary actions. The board said it will continue to listen to principals, educators and families while drafting districtwide expectations and guardrails.
