During the MOU discussion trustees heard the names and backgrounds of three initial board members that incoming chair Liz Lindsay Ardawan said she had recruited to start the transition.
Ardawan named Katie Morton (north side, former Conroe ISD communications employee), Carol Durkee (The Woodlands, long nonprofit volunteer history) and Celeste Grabowski (southern district, former teacher). "We wanna make sure that we have, an opportunity to pull volunteers from all over our district," Ardawan said, describing plans to recruit broadly as the board expands.
Ardawan also said the foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) that will be governed by its own board even while it is housed within the district. Trustees responded positively and thanked outgoing foundation members for decades of service.
