Carmen Chubb, deputy commissioner for housing at the Department of Community Affairs, opened the agencypresentation and outlined the sessionfocus: rental housing development, homeownership financing and housing assistance programs.
"My name is Carmen Chubb. I'm the deputy commissioner for housing at the Department of Community Affairs," Chubb said, and she introduced three division directors who would walk the committee through DCAprogram areas. Chubb said the agencyaims to give legislators information they can use to promote programs in their districts and noted staff would provide follow-up data on program outputs and distribution across counties.
The presentation emphasized DCA's role as the state's housing and community development agency and previewed detailed sections on the Georgia Housing Credit, the Georgia Dream homeownership program and housing assistance for people who are homeless or have special needs. Committee members asked for historical and county-level breakdowns; Chubb and division staff offered to provide those materials on request. The meeting closed with DCA staff asking members to direct any additional questions to the agency for supplemental materials.
