Piqua adds ClearGov modules to make budgets easier for public to read

The commission approved a resolution to expand the city’s ClearGov software subscription to include public‑facing modules intended to make budgets and financial reports easier for residents to access and understand. Finance staff said the additional modules will enable chart‑based reports, links from the budget book to online reports and an improved interface for citizens to view financial statements 24/7.
"The whole point of adding this module is for transparency and for the public to be able to see more data in easily readable format," the finance representative told commissioners. Public commenters urged caution about stacking recurring software subscriptions and pressed the city to address longstanding civic‑plus/website access problems at the same time.
