Union City approves easement at 104 E. High St.; borough to install catch basin

Council approved an easement agreement with the owner of 104 East High Street that requires the borough to install and supply a catch basin on the property and to maintain a pipe and two catch basins. The property owner will provide and install a 60-foot pipe from the borough basin to a PennDOT basin and will dig and maintain a ditch from the PennDOT basin to Bentley Run. The agreement was completed by Solicitor Wachter and approved by motion of Councilor Osborn, seconded by Councilor Joyce.
Minutes state the borough will maintain the pipe and catch basins while the property owner assumes responsibility for installation and ongoing maintenance of the connecting pipe and ditch. The motion carried unanimously as recorded in the minutes.
