Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips presented engineering recommendations to address a sinkhole at Municipal Lot #1 that involves a failed 24-inch clay tile and disconnected pipes. Engineers recommended replacing approximately 10 feet of pipe, installing a larger catch basin next to the sinkhole and reconnecting the affected drains; the work may be staged in four lined sections.
Two contractor estimates were presented: Mansfield bid $22,295 and McLallen Construction bid $23,450; both required the borough to provide a truck during the project. Councilor Steadman moved to award the work to Mansfield for $22,295; Councilor Osborn seconded the motion, which carried unanimously among members present.
