Union City Borough Council voted on Oct. 7 to designate $39,060.20 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to cover stormwater repairs in Municipal Lot #1 and to close a catch basin in Hogan's Alley. Councilor Joyce moved the measure and Councilor Steadman seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells told council that the borough’s total ARPA allocation is $194,413 and that $160,000 had already been designated for the Willow Street Bridge project, with $25,000 spent to date. After that designation Wells reported a stated balance of $59,413. The stormwater repairs, she said, cost $39,060.20 and council approved using ARPA funds to cover that line item. The action was recorded as a formal motion and vote in the meeting minutes.
