The Leicester Selectboard voted to name Lindsay Davenial, currently on the DRB, as an alternate to the planning commission to help with the town plan update. Chair opened the agenda item saying she had spoken with Davenial and recommended the nomination; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
The chair told the board she would apply for a municipal planning grant to fund regional planning assistance and community outreach. "I'm going to apply for a municipal planning grant to pay for regional planning to basically do the work," the Chair said. Board members noted the grant process requires the town to show it has met eligibility criteria and to coordinate with Addison County Regional Planning. Members discussed including survey material in the town report to solicit resident feedback on priorities for the updated plan.
The board directed staff to proceed with the grant application and to notify Davenial of her appointment. The Selectboard expects more detailed grant and timeline information at a future meeting once regional planning confirms scope and funding amounts.
