Public commenters urge implementation tools, ask about zoning bylaw timeline

During the public-comment portion of the hearing, Patty Eisenhaur, Housing Commission Chair, suggested that the goals at the end of each plan section could serve as useful summaries for implementation. "At the end of each section there are goals defined, which might be a good way to get a summary," Eisenhaur said.
Curt Cowles asked about the timeline for the town's Zoning Bylaws, prompting Chair Tom Cavanagh to clarify that this hearing addressed the Town Plan and to outline the Zoning Bylaws timeline. Gary Kleinen, who said he had experience with Concord, Massachusetts, suggested the Planning Commission review an implementation matrix used there as an example to guide Selectboard decision-making.
The public comments focused on turning plan goals into actionable steps and on timing for the zoning work; the Planning Commission and Selectboard indicated follow-up will occur as part of the zoning bylaw process.
