Heather Stephenson, a visitor at the Dec. 22 meeting, said the hearing notice in the Vermont Journal did not include the new zoning map and that "a specific report needs to be voted on by the PC before holding a hearing," prompting commissioners to acknowledge the error and pull the notice. The commission confirmed a draft report exists but has not been voted on.
Commission members said the omission prevented the public hearing from proceeding as scheduled. The panel agreed to pause and review the materials; they recorded a plan to meet again on Jan. 12 to continue work on the bylaw draft and related materials.
The procedural pause means the public will not have the scheduled hearing on Jan. 12 until the commission re-posts notice with the required materials. The commission did not formally vote on the underlying zoning changes during the Dec. 22 meeting.
