Board approves River & Associates feasibility study for Highway 305 water infrastructure

Becky Turner of River & Associates asked the board to approve a feasibility study to examine water-infrastructure needs along Highway 305 from McGee's Crossroads to Jackson, citing concerns about quantity, quality and pressure for that corridor. Commissioners approved the study by motion and second.
"This is an agreement for feasibility study to look at water infrastructure improvements on Highway 305," Turner told the board, and said the process would identify required improvements and produce a plan to address the issues the study reveals. Chair Martin and commissioners asked clarifying questions about the exact limits of the study area; Turner confirmed the study covers the section of 305 north of Jackson, from McGee's Crossroads to Jackson. A motion to approve the feasibility study was made and seconded, and the chair announced the motion carried.
Turner invited commissioners to visit the firm's office and review its system once the study begins. The feasibility study will inform later decisions about design, funding and construction priorities if problems are identified.
