Tipton schools launch yearlong outreach to explain school funding and state law impacts

Scott Jaworski, associate superintendent for Tipton Community School Corp, announced a yearlong public information campaign aimed at helping residents understand how the district is funded and how state legislation affects local schools.

"Every dollar tells a story about student opportunity, and we wanna share those stories with you," Jaworski said in a short recorded message introducing the series. He said the campaign will provide "regular short videos, infographics, and interactive tools" to make complex topics—property taxes, per-pupil funding and state caps—easier to follow.

Jaworski described the rollout: monthly new content hosted on the district website and shorter weekly clips that each focus on a single question, such as how local schools receive funding and "what is Senate Enrolled Act 1, and why does it matter." He framed the effort as a transparency initiative intended to reduce rumors and give families, staff and taxpayers clear information to guide local conversations.

He invited residents to follow the series and to use the materials at community events, saying viewers can "watch each weekly video, download the tools and infographics, and share them with your neighbors." The recording lists the district site as www.tcsc.k12.in.us; the audio also contains a typographical error in one utterance rendered as "www.tcsc..k12.in.us." Jaworski said questions may be sent to him or to Dr. Glaze via email. The short announcement closed with a promise of another installment in the series.
