The towns master-plan consultant presented the outreach-and-engagement findings and said the project team had collected about 900 responses that will feed a draft vision and future land-use guidance. Landon, the presenter, said: "The first work product to come out of the two together is the data," and described the next steps toward a draft vision and future land-use map that the board can refine.
Board members pressed on priorities that emerged from the outreach, including workforce housing, infrastructure, and preserving the towns character. One committee member said residents repeatedly flagged the need for a grocery store and pharmacy, and another said the outreach showed wide agreement that development should be better shaped rather than simply blocked. The consultant cautioned that the survey is an input, not a vote, and recommended the board use the report to shape zoning and implementation tools.
The consultant proposed a schedule that would bring revised vision language and an initial future-land-use sketch back to the board in August, sketch actions and a draft by October, and aim for a complete draft by November with public hearings in early 2027. The board agreed to review the draft language and return comments at the next meeting.
