Council to Review Pasco’s 2025 Cannabis Revenue and Licensing Changes

Pasco City Council will hear a presentation on July 27 about the city’s cannabis-related revenue for 2025 and changes in state licensing rules. "Pasco was the 1st of the Tri Cities to lift the ban on pot shops," Communications Coordinator Alyssa Warner said, and the city therefore receives a share of taxes collected from cannabis sales statewide.
Warner noted the city "gets a share of the taxes collected from cannabis sales all over the state even if nobody in Pasco ever buys anything." The presentation is expected to include 2025 revenue totals and an explanation of recent licensing changes at the state level.
Council members may discuss whether to allow more retail cannabis stores in Pasco. No decision was announced in the agenda preview; Warner framed the item as a presentation and discussion during the workshop.
