Trustees asked how a split would affect employees. District staff said most building-level staff would remain in their current locations but central support roles — such as federal-programs director, special-education coordinator, business manager, human-resources clerk and maintenance — could be reorganized or split between the new districts. Staff cautioned that contracts (food services, curriculum providers) would have to be renegotiated and that some roles might be covered by administrators taking on multiple duties.
When pressed about reductions in force, staff said they did not expect certified staff layoffs because most classroom positions would track enrollment; however, they could not guarantee every support position would remain unchanged. Trustees said they pushed the timeline to the following summer to allow time for contract renegotiations and staffing decisions if voters approve a split.
