A board director gave a legislative update, noting 43 days until the 2025 long session, which the presenter described as a 105‑day session from Jan. 13 to April 28. The director encouraged colleagues to use the Washington State Legislature’s new website to follow bills, committees and representatives and reminded the board of a district legislative meeting on Dec. 5 to coordinate the district’s top three priorities.
The director said the new site makes it easier to track committee work and encouraged board members to “geek out” with the tools to follow bills and representatives. The board did not vote on legislative positions at the meeting; the update served as a reminder to prepare for upcoming advocacy in January.
