CIAC agrees to map commission and committee calendars to improve major-project oversight

Members reviewed upcoming work-plan items (June CIP presentation, July quarterly report, August annual KPM) and asked staff to map OTC/commission agendas against CIAC dates so the committee can better time reviews and provide proactive recommendations on high-risk projects.
Kat reviewed the work plan and flagged upcoming presentations: June will include the capital investment plan and the major-projects policy framework; July will bring the next quarterly report and August the statutory annual KPM report.
Members debated whether CIAC should receive off-cycle updates when projects move to a watch list. Tova said the commission is already receiving frequent updates on high-risk projects such as Abernathy; "We're not bringing those updates to the CIAC," she said, and invited the chair and vice chair to weigh in on whether CIAC should be added to that update cycle. Committee members asked staff (Kat and Tova) to overlay OTC/commission agendas with the CIAC meeting schedule and propose a cadence that allows CIAC to provide recommendations to the commission in advance of decisions.
Kat and Tova committed to prepare a proposed calendar and return next month with options for a standing agenda item on major-project status and a mechanism for off-cycle flags; no formal changes to the work plan were adopted at this meeting.
