Kechi council confirms slate of annual city officer appointments

The council unanimously appointed a set of city officers including Andrew Kovar as City Attorney, Debra Creekmore as City Clerk, Krista Brown as City Treasurer and Deputy City Clerk, Thomas Bevan as Director of Public Works, Terry Beall as Municipal Judge, and Joy Williams as City Prosecutor.
At its May 28 meeting the Kechi City Council moved to confirm annual appointments for city officers and positions that guide municipal operations.
Motions carried 4-0 to appoint Andrew Kovar as City Attorney; Krista Brown as City Treasurer and (separately) as Deputy City Clerk; Debra Creekmore as City Clerk; Thomas Bevan as Director of Public Works; Dustin Belton as City Planner; Terry Beall as Municipal Judge; and Joy Williams as City Prosecutor. Councilmembers presented the slate during the unfinished business portion of the meeting and each appointment was approved by voice vote.
The minutes note that officers will remain in their positions until removed, replaced by a qualified person, or employment is terminated. The council did not record any opposed votes or conditions attached to the appointments in the minutes.
