Township staff outlines Official Map update to show trails, roadways and conservation areas

Township Manager Brian Harris briefed the commission on an update to Warwick Township's Official Map and explained the Municipalities Planning Code authority for the tool. Harris said the map is intended as a planning document that can identify future roadways, water and sewer extension corridors, trail connections and conservation areas such as steep slopes, wetlands and riparian zones.
Harris said the Official Map can help the township coordinate with developers and apply for grant funding for larger projects, and that Lititz Borough is working on an Official Map update to coordinate cross-boundary improvements. He told commissioners he will distribute an electronic version for review and comment.
