Planning staff reported that the general-plan update's consultants are preparing a near-final version and that commissioners should receive a review copy by month end. Staff said the county obtained grant funds from FIPCO to improve the resource-management portion and to make the plan more searchable and usable for public review.
Commissioners discussed logistics for public review and scheduled time to receive and review printed copies at their October meeting before holding formal public hearings. "We actually got some money... from FIPCO to update some wording and may actually take it to the next level," staff said. The commission expects to circulate draft materials to special-service districts and stakeholders before final adoption.
