Staff says Ferrum annexation cleared by commission; city must finish process

Staff reported that the commission had responded in favor of a proposed Ferrum annexation and instructed staff to proceed. "So I did get a response from everybody. I told Megan to proceed with the annexation," the staff member handling notifications said, adding that county notices had been sent to affected landowners within the specified radius.
According to staff, the county portion of the process has moved through the commission and the next step is for the city to finish its review. The commission recorded that outreach (mailing to landowners within 300 feet plus) had been completed as required and the matter no longer required further action by the planning commission.
