District says HVAC projects largely complete; targeted fixes being tested at Salt Brook

At the New Providence Board of Education meeting on June 25, School Business Administrator James Testa reported substantial progress on HVAC systems and related projects across the district.
Testa said most HVAC systems are functioning and that contractors H&S have received punch lists they expect to complete by the end of summer. A communication-system fix is currently being trialed at Salt Brook School; if the test continues to perform, the district will roll the solution out to the high school, then the middle school, and finally the elementary schools. "I am 99% sure that we will be done before the end of the summer," Testa told the Board.
AMCO, the contractor for the high school gym HVAC and the Salt Brook DOAS unit, began site work immediately after graduation; materials are ordered and delivery is expected on schedule. Testa said classroom temperature controls will allow teachers to raise or lower temperatures by two degrees; larger adjustments would require a request to the maintenance foreman. The District plans a meeting with all contractors, the business administrator and the superintendent to ensure on-time completion and resolution of remaining communications issues.
The Board did not approve additional funds at the meeting; Testa said current work is on schedule. The Board asked no further questions during the update.
