The Londonderry Planning Commission voted unanimously on Aug. 25, 2025, to sign and forward a letter raising concerns about conditions at the Magic View Motel. Pamela J. Spaulding, the commission clerk, told members she had drafted the letter supporting concerns raised by Thom Simmons and asked whether the commission should sign and send it.
Vice Chair Brent Bammarito cited emergency response data, saying, "The Rescue Squad has been called there 32 times from January to the Monday of last week." Member Stephen L. Twitchell moved that the commission sign the letter in good conscience and give it to the Select Board and others; Brent Bammarito seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The letter was signed by all members in attendance. The members discussed alleged shortages of space, services and water for clients and questioned the building's compliance with code standards. Pamela Spaulding suggested sending copies also to State Representative Chris Morrow and State Senator Seth Bongatz.
