After opening and taking public comment at a hearing Jan. 8, the Rich County Commission unanimously adopted Rich County Ordinance O25-2, a Short-Term Rental Ordinance. County Attorney Ben Willoughby read and explained the proposed ordinance during the hearing; Commissioner William E. Cox moved for adoption, Commissioner Jonathan B. Lee seconded, and the motion passed with no recorded opposition.
Following adoption, Mitch Poulsen, Executive Director of the Bear Lake Regional Commission, briefed the commission on software options for administering short-term rental registration and compliance and reviewed the county's current contract with GovOS. The commissioners took the software matter under advisement and planned to decide on a vendor at a future meeting.
