Pleasant View City Council approved two personnel-related items on Jan. 13. Laurie Hellstrom presented amendments to the Personnel Policy to reflect changes under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) related to income tax deductions for qualified overtime compensation; Councilmember David Marriott moved approval with an amendment to set section 5 to 40 hours for both overtime banks, and the council approved the change by roll call vote.
On the same agenda the council adopted the Designated Roth Service Agreement with Utah Retirement Systems (URS) to allow employees access to Roth 401(k) and Roth 457(b) plans. Councilmember Sara Urry moved adoption and the measure passed unanimously. The policies consolidate previous personnel policies and aim to ensure compliance with recent state-level payroll tax provisions while expanding retirement plan options for city employees.
