Pleasant View City Council voted to enter a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force through the Utah Attorney General’s Office.
Stetson Talbot said internet‑related crimes against children are increasing and most children now have smartphones and online access; local resources are limited and these investigations require specialized training and technology. Talbot said the city will assign an officer to the task force, who can share investigative trends and provide community education. "There is a minimal financial impact. The only cost is training and time," he told the council.
Councilmember Dave Marriott moved to enter into the MOU; Councilmember Johnny Ferry seconded. The motion passed 5‑0.
