Pleasant View City Council voted unanimously Jan. 27 to award a $289,203.21 contract to Allied Underground Technology to complete the Storm Drain Crossing of Railroad at 1325 West.
Mayor Steve Gibson described the project as "by the Multi‑Sports Park" and said it will upsize the drain supporting the detention basin. "The project is coming under the budget of $700,000," stated Tyson Jackson, noting the work is intended to improve detention-basin performance and correct long‑standing flooding tied to undersized railroad crossings. Jackson said Allied’s lower price reflected an in‑house boring method and equipment rather than subcontracting and that engineering reviewed the bid with no concerns.
Councilmember Dave Marriott moved to award the bid; Councilmember Sean Wilkinson seconded. The motion passed 5‑0. Staff noted the project is impact‑fee eligible and that coordination with Union Pacific and Rail‑Pros will be required for on‑site railroad work and permitting.
