The Pleasant View City Planning Commission voted unanimously Jan. 8, 2026, to vacate a previously dedicated “future right-of-way” located at approximately 2847 N Parkland Blvd. in the Simon Goe Subdivision. Planner Tammy Eveson told the commission the dedication was originally tied to a planned rail crossing that is no longer anticipated.
Eveson said the rail crossing justification no longer applies and staff and the Development Review Committee have coordinated with Union Pacific, which staff said made additional crossings unlikely given existing agricultural crossings and anticipated phased removal of such access. Commissioner Julie Farr opened and closed the public hearing with no public comment; Farr moved to approve the vacation and Commissioner Dean Stokes seconded. The motion passed unanimously (yes: 8, no: 0).
